Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

For those of you who havent read the book, this is what its all about.

In Harry Potter and the Half-Bood Prince, as Harry begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, Lord Voldermort wreaks havoc throughout Britain , and the pressure to defeat him grows stronger. Using an old Potions book which previously belonged to the “Half-Blood Prince”, Harry is able to increase his magical knowledge and prepare for battle. First however, he must help Dumbledore discover the secret to Voldermort quest for immortality – the location of his Horcruxes. But the quest for the Horcruxes and the resulting battle at Hogwarts produce a tragic outcome – leading Harry to believe the must head out on his own to conquer the Dark Lord. Asli Day Out

I volunteered for the ‘Asli Day Out’ programme organized by La Salle Center. It was a 3 days 2 nights programme for 30 indigenous (orang asli) kids. The main idea is to bring them to Kuala Lumpur (KL) for a day trip to let them experience the city life that they never experienced before. Basically we went to 3 places, Pusat Sains Negara, Muzium Negara and Petrosains. It was fun and educational. Even for me

We stayed in Kampung Chang Baru located in Bidur, Perak. It is about one and half hour ride from Kuala Lumpur. It is a small community with less than 20 families. They speak their own language, Bahasa Semai. It amazes me that they study in their own language. Like their textbooks and stuff. Oh, here’s a few word I learned. Mah igah means how are you and gah bor is I’m great.

Besides that, I've learn to be thankful of what we have. And not whine about stuff that we don't have. I used to whine alot (still whining, but lesser d) but I've never realise how lucky I am compared to others. Thats the hmm money-cant-be-bought-lesson that I learned la.

I’m not very good with words. Therefore, I’ll just post as many pictures as I could. A picture speaks a thousand words right?

Shall we?

Picture after game session. We were playing dress up.
Aquarium at the entrance of pusat sains negara. Saw that super long big fish on the right? It's as tall as me. No kidding.
Kid having fun
Ots having fun
Me and my group mate!! Hmm from left to right, Ito, Ryzo, Nadia, Sikha, Diana, Yok Idin, Yustiga, Kenanga and Agil
Me and my group again. With two other OTs
In Muzium Negara
Us at the rabbit garden.
This is a cool mind game. You need to calm yourself and concentrate in order to 'move' the ball towards your opponent. Sadly I lost. How to be calm when you're super excited? You tell me la.
Mini earth quake area. You can experience the earth quake shaky-ness in 3 different level. Kinda cool actually.
OTs and kids having fun?

These are the POTs (Pioneer Organising Team). Pioneer because this is the first orang asli programme organized by the center. We are just helpers. Organizers are the bigger bosses.

All of us. POTs and the bigger bosses.
A final group picture with all the kids and Ot's

To sum all that up, I, we, us had alot of fun. Exhausted but fun. Weeee

Ps: Thank you to all the big bosses, POTs, SPNS committe and the kids for this programme.

Life is short

They say it takes a minute
to find a special someone,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
but an entire life to forget them.

Well said :)
